What’s new? Half of the NFT holders have lost access to at least one of their tokens. Also, 16% of marketplace users were hacked, but about 90% of them were able to partially recover their losses. This data was provided by research firm PrivacyHQ, which conducted a survey among thousands of collectors.
What else does the research say? MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and Math Wallet are the most common wallets for non-fungible tokens. Also, two-thirds of those surveyed stated that they had “panic sold” their collectibles.
Despite security concerns, NFT sales reached $17,7 billion in 2021. By comparison, the figure in 2020 was $82,5 million. Earlier, it was reported that the Treasure platform suffered from hacker attacks.
