What’s new? StarkWare, a provider of Ethereum scaling solutions, has announced plans to launch an additional Layer 3 network, StarkNet, on its blog. StarkWare is the first project about to reach the next level of scalability.
How will StarkNet work? Gidi Kaempfer, the head of core engineering at StarkWare, said that the new layer will be tied to the second layer of StarkNet. The new network layer will provide a “hyper-scalability” and further reduce gas costs. With this solution, StarkWare will support the high bandwidth applications such as games and social media.
What else did the company's representatives add? Gidi Kaempfer posts that the updated architecture for certain applications will meet the needs of “a specific adaptation that may be improved by a new and separate layer.” The company’s representatives also said that they will be able to build in level 4 scalability as well if needed.
