What’s new? Venture capital firm The Open Platform (TOP) has announced a strategic investment in Akedo Games studio to support game development for messenger Telegram on the TON blockchain ecosystem. Akedo’s team has been involved in the development of high-profile projects such as PUBG Mobile, LOL, AFK Arena, and Rise of Kingdoms. Its first game for Telegram called Akedog will be launched on July 18.
What else is known? Akedog is a clicker game where users will be offered NFT pets. These non-fungible tokens can be collected, sold, and combined to improve their characteristics. The objective of the game will be to get the NFT with the best characteristics compared to other users.
TOP’s support will allow Akedo Games to utilize Telegram’s integrated TON wallet, trading platform, and blockchain staking services.
TOP is focused on supporting TON-based projects including the Tonkeeper wallet, GetGems marketplace, Notcoin clicker game, and the Ston.fi and Tonstakers protocols.
Clicker games for Telegram have been rapidly gaining popularity in recent months. The first high-profile project where users could earn coins by clicking on the screen was Notcoin. In May, the game’s creators released the NOT coin on the blockchain, and exchanges listed it, allowing users to earn real income.

The next well-known game was Hamster Kombat, whose user base has already crossed the 250 million mark. The first airdrop for players should take place already this month. The project team also announced long-term plans for the development and preparation of the second airdrop.
