What's new? El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele announced on Twitter that the country bought 410 BTC for $15 million. He called such a price “extremely low.” According to the latest figures, the country owns at least 1801 BTC, which at the time of writing is approximately $66 million.
Nope, I was wrong, didn’t miss it.El Salvador just bought 410 #bitcoin for only 15 million dollars 🥳Some guys are selling really cheap 🤷🏻♂️ https://t.co/vEUEzp5UdU— Nayib Bukele 🇸🇻 (@nayibbukele) January 21, 2022
What is the situation with cryptocurrency in El Salvador? Given the coin’s recent fall, Nayib Bukele is not at all worried about it. The president claims that the bitcoin exchange rate will reach $200 000 by the end of the year.
However, the country sold a third of its savings last month. El Salvador’s government is also preparing a bill to regulate its bitcoin bonds.
