What’s new? Analytics software company MicroStrategy bought another 1045 bitcoins totaling $23,9 million between March 23 and April 4. The average purchase price per BTC was $28 016. In total, the company owns 140 000 BTC purchased for ~$4,17 billion at an average price of $29 803 per coin, said Michael Saylor, the chairman of the board of directors.

What else is known? MicroStrategy first invested in bitcoin in August 2020 and has added to its reserves multiple times since then, it is the largest holder of the asset among public companies. Between February 16 and March 23, 2023, the company bought an additional 6455 BTCworth about $150 million.
Meanwhile, in the fourth quarter of last year, MicroStrategy sold part of BTC (704 coins worth $900 000) for the first time in its history. Back then it alsoreported a loss of $24,7 million related to the decline of the first cryptocurrency’s rate.
As of April 5, 13:45 UTC, bitcoin is trading at $28 383, having gained 0,68% in 24 hours, according to Binance. MicroStrategy shares under the ticker MSTR are traded at $298,98 (+1,34%) on the US Nasdaq Stock Exchange, according to Investing.com.
