What’s new? Polygon, a blockchain developer, received ISO 27001 certification for compliance with the requirements for creating, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving information security management systems. The external audit was conducted by Schellman Compliance, an accredited company, and evaluated Polygon Labs’ activities as an operator and developer of open-source software solutions.
What else is known? ISO 27001 was developed by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission. The company’s audit evaluates the organizational controls, personnel controls, physical controls, and process controls used in its day-to-day operations. A total of 93 IS controls, such as role assignment and access controls, are examined in all of these categories.
The company said ISO 27001 compliance “reflects this commitment to security best practices, and positions Polygon Labs as a trusted leader for the blockchain industry.”
In March, Nomura bank’s subsidiary launched an institutional staking fund based on Polygon’s (MATIC) native token. In April, crypto exchange OKX launched its own Ethereum-based Layer 2 (L2) X Layer network, built using the blockchain development kit (CDK) from Polygon’s creators.
Stablecoin issuer USDT had previously successfully passed a Service and Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) audit, which evaluated information systems security measures.
