What’s new? Nicholas Merten, a trader and crypto analyst, said that altcoins from the metaverse sector will lead the digital asset markets in terms of the investment prospects in 2022. He recommended paying attention to the Metaverse Index (MVI), one of the few indices that outperforms Ethereum in terms of returns.

What is Merten's view? The trader believes that investing in MVI is a great way to cover the entire metaverse sector. On December 13, the MVI token is trading at $234 and its capitalization is $47 million. In three months, the value of the asset has increased by almost 170%.

What else did the analyst say? In addition to the metaverse, Merten says he is betting on DeFi and NFT:

“I think the Metaverse is definitely number one. In the second place would probably be DeFi and NFTs. All three of which have a pretty substantial chance especially even against Ethereum to potentially keep up or perform just as well.”
