What's new? The Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus have developed a new tariff schedule for miners and data center operators. The document has already been published on state resources.
What changes will the miners face? First of all, the volume of annual electricity consumed for this group of users will start from 25 million kWh. Further, depending on the volume, miners will pay one of four tariffs:
- from 25 to 50 million kWh;
- from 50 to 300 million kWh;
- from 300 to 500 million kWh;
- from 500 million kWh.
Additional tariff groups may be established by presidential decree. As previously stated, Alexander Lukashenko urged state-owned enterprises’ workers to use excess electricity to mine cryptocurrencies.
