What’s new? The awarding of academic degrees using the WE.Vote electronic voting service has taken place for the first time at the V. A. Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This is reported by Forklog.
What events preceded it? The Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) has made adjustments to the list of requirements for dissertation council meetings in 2021. According to the updates, an academic organization has to provide the possibility of remote voting according to the established regulations for all members of dissertation councils who are unwilling or unable to attend the meetings in person.
What is the opinion of the university’s employees? In the future, the institute plans to use the blockchain service for voting of other councils and commissions. The representatives added:
“WE.Vote is fully compliant with the Higher Attestation Commission requirements. We appreciated its speed and reliability, as well as the user-friendliness and simplicity.”
In September, the Russian Federation of Practical Shooting has already used the service to assess the quality of the competitions held.
