Britain seizes NFT for the first time while investigating cryptocurrency fraud

What’s new? The UK police have arrested three people on suspicion of cryptocurrency fraud. A court order has already been issued to seize £5000 (approximately $6700 at the current exchange rate) worth of crypto assets and three NFTs. This was the first seizure of non-fungible tokens in the UK, according to BBC News.

What is known about the fraud? The UK’s HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has reported that the fraudsters have registered 250 fake firms with illegal accounts to conduct crypto transactions. They concealed their identities by using stolen personal data as well as virtual private networks to mask IP addresses.
