What’s new? Circle, a stablecoin issuer and crypto payments company, has delayed the release of its DeFi API product, citing the need for further regulatory guidance. Last June, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire announced the DeFi API project, which was to help businesses access DeFi’s leading protocols, starting with Compound Finance on the Ethereum blockchain.
How does Circle comment on the DeFi API launch postponement? In a statement, the company said:
“We continue to focus on empowering institutions to send, spend and secure USDC and unlock new ways of doing business with the suite of services available through Circle Account. The timing of the DeFi API product rollout will be guided by developments in, and the availability of, further regulatory guidance.”
