What’s new? Rosseti Northern Caucasus has published a press release with information about the facts of electricity theft detected during the year by miners. Two regions, Dagestan and Ingushetia, were the leaders in the number of crimes in this area.

What is known about the amount of “black mining”? According to Rosseti, 35 cases of non-metered electricity consumption have been discovered in the region. The losses for 2021 amounted to 171 million Russian rubles (RUB). As for the data for 2019-2021, Dagestan took the lead with 43 cases of electricity theft worth 188 million RUB. In second place is Ingushetia with 11 detected cases of embezzlement worth more than 150 million RUB.
The criminal proceedings have already been initiated in these cases, and high fines and other sanctions await the illegal power miners, depending on the amount of damage and the volume of theft.
