What’s new? Core Scientific, a blockchain infrastructure provider and software developer, has reported a record number of cryptocurrencies mined for the second month in a row. In January 2022, the number of bitcoins mined reached the 1077 coin mark.

What is known about Core Scientific’s capacities? The company’s farms are currently running at a speed over 14 EH/s. As Core Scientific CEO Mike Levitt stated, this allows for more than 1000 bitcoins to be mined each month. The growth compared to the 2021 figures is 315%.
Mike Levitt stressed that the company plans to further expand its operations in the Americas. Core Scientific’s reserves have already exceeded 6273 bitcoins mined using its own farms, which consist of 75 000 miners.
