What’s new? Newzoo’s analysts have published a report in which they shared their vision for the development of the gaming market. According to them, in 2022 more and more developers will choose P2E (play-to-earn) to expand the number of possible sources of income from their games.
Games are playing a key role in shaping the #metaverse. But who are the #metaverse players? 🎮 We zoomed in on people who play proto-metaverse games like #Roblox, #Fortnite, and #Minecraft to find out. 🕵️♂️ Explore the insights here: https://t.co/590e2Q0dqS pic.twitter.com/u5FltKyHQV— Newzoo (@NewzooHQ) February 23, 2022
What other data does the report contain? Newzoo emphasizes that the use of blockchain technologies in the creation of games will create conditions for “more secure and legitimate trading between players in a centralized environment.” And P2E in doing so will complement the business model in a way that is similar to the streaming and eSports directions, for example.
According to analysts, in addition to using P2E, the main focus in 2022 the developers will do on the development of metaverses, and the main “hype” will be in the field of virtual real estate. Already today, major brands are entering this area, and the price of virtual plots and castles sometimes exceeds the value of a real estate in the real world.
