What’s new? The number of bitcoin wallets has surpassed 1 billion, Glassnode analysts reported on Twitter. According to the company, 1 000 002 559 addresses have been created as of June 12. The steady growth may indicate that the first cryptocurrency is still in demand despite a significant decline in the crypto market in 2022. BTC is trading at $19 878, down 71,1% from its all-time high (ATH) of November 2021, according to Binance at 14:40 UTC.

What else is known about the addresses? The number of bitcoin addresses is not the same as the number of unique asset holders, as investors often own multiple wallets. In addition, users can create new addresses after losing access to previous ones.
Activity on the Ripple blockchain (XRP) reached a two-year high on June 26, according to analyst firm Santiment. For the first time since February 2020, the number of unique addresses interacting with the network exceeded 200 000. The day before, it was around 30 000 — an increase of more than 580%.
