What’s new? Sentiment’s DeFi protocol team said that the hacker returned 90% of the funds stolen on April 4 to the project. It had earlier offered the hacker to keep $95 000 as a reward, promising to stop prosecution if the rest of the funds were returned by April 6, 08:00 UTC. According to MetaMask crypto wallet developer Taylor Monahan, the hacker returned 465,75 coins out of 517,5 ETH (~$966 000). He has 51,75 ETH left in his wallet.

More details about the hack. After the hack, Sentiment suspended its main contract to allow only withdrawals and said it was working with law enforcement agencies and auditors to find the hacker. At the time, the team noted that efforts would be unnecessary if the attacker began to cooperate.

The project’s representatives later said they had managed to fix the problem, and users could now pay off debts and roll up positions. They promised to provide a more detailed report on the incident within the next few hours.

Previously, the Euler Finance DeFi protocol was exploited, with the hacker who hacked it apologizing and returning all funds to the project.
