What is known about the partnership? As part of the collaboration, MBC will create a virtual office building, production studios, and other content for users of The Sandbox. This is not the company’s first experience in the metaverse, a year earlier, MBC created virtual avatars of judges for the hit TV show The Masked Talent. As for The Sandbox, the company is already cooperating with local entertainment giant CJ ENM, as well as major K-pop agencies: SM and Cube Entertainment.

Also, currently, South Korean TV is broadcasting Avatar Singer, which is the first musical survival show in the metaverse. Avatar Singer uses augmented reality (VR) avatars to mask the contestants’ personalities.

Earlier, chef and TV host Gordon Ramsay announced that he would be bringing his show Hell’s Kitchen to The Sandbox metaverse. According to the announcement by The Sandbox’s parent company, Animoca Brands, the metaverse community will be able to “create new dishes, win competitions, collect recipes & compete for your chance to make it to Head Chef.”
