Spot trading volume on crypto exchanges rises by 10% in August

What’s new? In August, Chinese analyst Colin Wu’s team recorded a 10% increase in spot trading volume on cryptocurrency exchanges. The figure rose for the first time in months to $1,87 trillion, up from $1,69 trillion in July.
What did the study show? The study involved 16 major platforms, half of which showed a decline in trading volume. The largest drop was recorded on the Bitget exchange with a volume of $12,64 billion (-37,8%). According to Wu’s team, the leading growth position was taken by the Binance exchange with $441,1 billion (+1%), while the maximum growth was shown by BitMart with $83,6 billion (+19,2%).
In July, trading volume on cryptocurrency exchange Uniswap dropped to a new low of 2022. According to Dune Analytics, it was about $37,8 billion in the first month of Q3. Compared to June’s figure of $46,4 billion, the amount for July decreased by 18%.
