What’s new? The team of the decentralized non-custodial software crypto wallet Trust Wallet, part of the ecosystem of the Binance exchange, has issued a warning for iOS mobile users. Thus, developers have received information about a high-risk zero-day vulnerability that hackers can exploit via the iMessage messaging service.
What else is known? Trust Wallet specified that the vulnerability allows attackers to gain access to the iPhone, and it does not even require the potential victim to click on any link.
To protect against the iMessage exploit, developers recommended disabling the service as soon as possible until Apple’s experts release a security patch.
In February last year, dWallet Labs auditors found a zero-day vulnerability in the TRON blockchain, which could lead to a loss of $500 million, the problem was promptly eliminated by developers. And in October, through the use of a zero-day vulnerability in the Google Chrome browser, a hacker stole $7 million in ETH from an employee of the Fantom Foundation.
In March this year, scientists found a vulnerability in Apple chips for macOS with the risk of leakage of private keys. According to experts, it stems from the microarchitecture of the chips and cannot be completely eliminated.
