What’s new? Uniswap, one of the largest decentralized Ethereum exchanges, is moving to Polygon's Layer 2 network. This was announced by the Polygon founder Mihailo Bjelic on the company's blog. 99,3% of users accepted an offer to switch Uniswap to the new blockchain.
What does Bjelic say about Uniswap? The company's founder said that Polygon is “aligned with Ethereum’s values and is already battle-tested.” He noted a number of advantages of Uniswap's transition to the new platform, including possible savings for users. Polygon has allocated $20 million to the crypto exchange to simplify the transition.
“With this deployment, Uniswap as the flagship Ethereum application returns back to the original vision and again offers low fees and open access to everyone.”
How does Polygon promote the transition to its own blockchain? This month, Polygon and Seven Seven Six created a fund to support the Web3 projects. The fund's budget is $200 million, it should encourage companies to switch to the sidechain and create a “new Internet.”
