It talks about the implementation of the second-tier solution ZK-SNARK for network scalability.
What’s new? The Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has published an article on his blog in which he presented a new version of the network development roadmap. According to it, the Ethereum 2.0 platform can scale while remaining secure and resistant to censorship.
How does Buterin see the future of Ethereum 2.0? According to the co-founder of the network, the focus of the platform's scaling strategy should be on its unification and openness. A key place in the roadmap is occupied by the second-tier solution ZK-SNARK.
The solution should help to improve the efficiency of the blockchain validation in the “medium large blockchain,” says Buterin. He estimates that if the technology is fully implemented and the transition to a new blockchain with sharding begins, the network will be able to process 100 000 transactions per second.
What difficulties may arise? Buterin noted that the technology at the same time does not solve the problem of centralized block generation. Therefore, he added, there are two ways to implement the solution namely a general transition to one Rollup or the distribution of the activity among several solutions.
The co-founder of ETH does not exclude that it will take years for the full-scale use of the technology.
