What's new? A new crypto-themed restaurant in Florida offers hot dogs and shrimp cocktails inspired by Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. The establishment, located in Clearwater Beach, was named “Crypto Street Restaurant.” It held a grand opening in early December, offering a menu with names that echo popular crypto-assets and terminology.
What is special about the restaurant? The menu features dishes such as Dogedog, Crypto Cuban, DeFi Caesar Salad, SHIBA Shrimp Cocktail, and Bitcoinana Split. The restaurant's interior is decorated with themed posters, wall art, and furniture depicting Doge, Satoshi Nakamoto, Elon Musk, and other meme cryptocurrencies and market influencers.
According to the owner Ricardo Varona, “Crypto Street” accepts payment in all digital assets.
What does the owner of the restaurant say? Varona said that his 24-year-old son first introduced him to cryptocurrencies a few years ago, but at the time he was not a fan of the sector. Over time, he got into the concept of digital assets and initially considered launching a restaurant franchise accepting crypto payments. After the pandemic broke out and the supply chain issues became apparent, Varona decided to launch one crypto-themed establishment:
“So far the younger crowd loves it and come back. With the older crowd, there is a lot of people that have interest and similar stories to mine where their son or grandson taught them something. So it creates pretty cool conversations,” he added.
