What’s new? Ava Labs CEO Emin Gun Sirer announced on Twitter that “Avalanche processed 1,1 million transactions today, approximately 96% of Ethereum’s load.” The smart contracts platform is ranked 5th in terms of capitalization with total assets of $8,17 billion.
Avalanche ($AVAX) processed 1.1 million transactions today, approximately 96% of Ethereum's load. Average fees for a swap operation were $0.23 on Avalanche and $62.00 on Ethereum.Let's build together.— Emin Gün Sirer🔺 (@el33th4xor) January 28, 2022
What was the community’s reaction? Some of the users wrote that they will continue to support Ethereum despite the high fees. They consider Avalanche to be a less decentralized platform than its competitor.
Sirer disagreed with such statements:
“Could you quantify that “lack of decentralization?” I do not think decentralization is ETH’s strongest suit compared to AVAX. Does not look that decentralized to me, and I have measured things.”
