What’s new? Bitfury Group, a blockchain company, launches a cryptocurrency mining data center in Ontario, Canada. The equipment has a potential capacity of up to 200MW, but at the moment the farm produces only 16MW. There are plans to gradually increase the load. According to a press release, the farm is built based on Bitfury’s own hardware capacities, but in cooperation with a large mining company Hut 8.
What are the company’s plans? Bitfury plans to continue to grow in the North American market and introduce new mining solutions. The company will launch several more similar projects in the future.
Bitfury also has data centers in the USA, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Canada is a promising country for the crypto industry’s development. However, due to the recent protests, the authorities have tightened measures to regulate cryptocurrencies in the country.
Brian Brooks, Chief Executive Officer of Bitfury, stated:
“The demand for exposure to digital assets is exceptionally high, and the combination of Bitfury’s best-in-class infrastructure and proven operational expertise uniquely positions us to serve as a partner of choice to customers and investors globally.”
