Comments from the prosecutor's office. Unit coordinator and prosecutor Frederico Meinberg spoke about the training agents must receive:
“The best training for an agent dealing with digital assets is to interact with the market. Without practice, we can offer the best tools that, in the end, the agent will not know what to do with. That is why we always focus on the interaction of agents with the ecosystem, starting with exchanges and peer-to-peer sellers.”
For security reasons, Meinberg did not disclose the number of agents in the crypto unit.
In May, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) increased the number of employees at its dedicated Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit to combat digital fraud, hiring 20 investigators and litigators. The division analyzes digital asset exchanges and NFT projects.
