What’s new? The Cardano blockchain platform has announced on Hackerone that it has doubled its so-called “Bug Bounty,” a reward for detecting bugs on the network. The rewards were set for two different sectors, wallet, and nodes.
How will the rewards be paid out? The blockchain platform allocates four levels of risk: low, medium, high, and critical. The users will be paid $800, $2000, $6000, $20 000 respectively for bugs found in the wallet. For vulnerabilities found in nodes on the network, the reward ranges from $600 to $15 000.
How will this help the blockchain? This decision was made to provide additional protection to the platform, encouraging hackers to report vulnerabilities rather than exploit them. The fund has received 12 reports in the last 90 days, with a total of $2300 in rewards paid so far.
Recall that the block size on the Cardano network has increased by 11% this month. This indicates an increased number of transactions and users, which can lead to new bugs and vulnerabilities.
