What’s new? The Coinbase crypto exchange has started testing a trading system with zero commissions. The platform has announced that it is recruiting users for the beta test of a monthly subscription called Coinbase One. The subscription privileges also include account insurance for up to $1 million and 24/7 support.

What do the exchange’s representatives say about the innovation? Alesia Haas, the chief financial officer of Coinbase, stated:
“The transaction revenue has historically may have the lion’s share of our revenue. We’re taking steps to diversify this revenue and also grow our non-transaction revenue streams.”
The platform has announced a subscription in early 2022, and in May 2021 launched an updated version of Coinbase Prime, a prime brokerage service.
Coinbase is the first public crypto exchange in the world, whose shares began trading on NASDAQ in April 2021. It was previously reported that Coinbase received a record revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021, with a total trading volume of $547 billion.
