What’s new? The developer of the DeFiLlama analytics platform under the nickname @0xngmi has launched a tool for exchanging various tokens for native coins of the Ethereum blockchain without fees. The SmolRefuel service allows you to exchange a small volume of tokens (up to 1000 coins) for ETH. Apart from Ethereum, it also supports OP Mainnet, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Fantom, Arbitrum One, Polygon, Polygon zkEVM, and Base.
What else is known? According to the developer, the tool is suitable for users who own tokens but do not have the funds to pay for gas to use them. SmolRefuel allows you to swap to get ETH, which can later be used to pay for other transactions.
The service has already started working, and @0xngmi gave an example of its use. For example, a user received 10 000 aDAI coins to an address that does not have any other coins. Using SmolRefuel, he exchanged a portion of aDAI for the amount of ETH needed to send the assets to the cross-chain protocol without a fee.
Last September, the DeFiLlama team launched LlamaFolio, a tool for tracking cryptocurrency portfolios. It supports 373 DeFi protocols across 17 blockchains.
In December, online broker Robinhood announced the launch of commission-free cryptocurrency trading in the European Union.
