What’s new? Procryptocurrency legislation in the United States could be drafted by November 2025, according to Anthony Scaramucci, founder of investment company SkyBridge Capital, who also briefly worked as an aide to Donald Trump at the beginning of his last presidential term. According to the entrepreneur, work on the bill will be part of the period of congressional activity that usually takes place before the Christmas break.
What else is known? Scaramucci also commented on Trump’s new official meme token, which was released under the ticker TRUMP on the Solana blockchain on the eve of the inauguration. The entrepreneur said the asset is “bad for the industry” because “it’ll scare people, it’ll make people think that the industry is a scam.”
TRUMP jumped to nearly $73 the day after launching on January 18 and has since fallen by more than 76%.
Along with that, Scaramucci said TRUMP has proven the value of Solana’s blockchain, as the huge trading activity can be seen as a stress test for bond or stock tokenization opportunities:
“If we’re really gonna tokenize things, one of the ways to test the rail system is through memecoins, whether it’s DOGE or TRUMP. I think it’s helpful … I don’t like it, but that’s one of the positives of it.”
