What’s new? Since March 15, a decentralized crypto exchange aggregator, Matcha, has started blocking transactions originating from users with Russian IP addresses. Banten, a blockchain developer, was the first to notice this change and published a post on Twitter.
Trading from Russian IP addresses was banned, as the warning stated, “Trading from Russia is not supported.” After a while, it changed to “Region is not supported” and can be seen by users from China and Belarus. The restriction can be bypassed with a VPN.
What is known about the aggregator? Matcha is the second-largest DEX aggregator on Ethereum. The aggregator was created by the 0x team and has brought together many leading DAXs, including Uniswap, Khyber, Curve, Bancorp, and Mooniswap. Matcha uses 0x v4 smart contracts verified by Consensus Diligence.
