What’s new? US cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced an upcoming $10 million airdrop. All funds will be provided to users from Ukraine as assistance from the platform amid Russia’s special operation.
“Kraken will distribute over $10 million worth of to aid clients in Ukraine. Tranche 1 recipients will be credited $1000 in bitcoin, which can be withdrawn from March 10. The package is funded by historical Ukraine revenues and revenues for the first half of 2022 from Russia-based clients.
What are the terms of participation in the airdrop? The first distribution of $1000 in bitcoin will be given to users with Intermediate or Pro verification levels. In this, the account should be created before March 9, 2022, and the account should have any amount of funds on it. The second distribution will take place on April 1, and users who did not receive help with the first distribution will be able to participate. The third tranche is also foreseen and is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.
Kraken CEO Jess Powell stressed that digital assets are an important humanitarian tool, and the exchange hopes to continue providing services to its clients in Russia and Ukraine.
