What’s new? Ethereum's zkSync scaling solution will announce details about the native token in the first week of November. This was announced by Steve Newcomb, chief product officer at Matter Labs, the company developing the product, in a discussion on Twitter Spaces. The announcement came ahead of the scheduled October 28 launch of the zkSync mainnet, which has been in development since early 2021. Newcomb denied the information about the token aidrop to zkSync users, calling it “just a rumor.”

What else did Newcomb say? Along with the mainnet, the project is preparing to provide an environment called “zk-EVM.” According to Newcomb, it will fully support smart contracts built on ZK Rollups, a Layer 2 (L2) solution for the Ethereum network.

What is known about zkSync? It is an Ethereum scaling solution built on ZK Rollups to provide faster and cheaper crypto transactions using Zero-knowledge proof (ZK) protocol.

More than 100 projects have expressed interest in deploying their applications on zkSync since the mainnet launch. These include Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange (DEX).

In November 2021, Matter Labs raised $50 million in funding from venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) to develop zkSync.

On October 19, the Aptos Foundation held an airdrop of native Aptos blockchain tokens (ATP). The project team distributed a total of 20 076 150 APTs to 110 235 users. The day before, the price of the coin increased by 10 000% immediately after listing on the Binance cryptocurrency exchange.
