What’s new? On August 26, British rock band Muse will release their ninth studio album, “Will of the People,” in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The release will be available on the Serenade platform, created on the Polygon sidechain. The upcoming release is limited to 1000 copies and will be released in both NFT and classic format. The price will be around $24 (£20). With the purchase of the tokenized album, fans will receive a downloadable version in the FLAC extension containing the digital signatures of the band members. This will be the first NFT release to hit the UK and Australian music charts.
What is Serenade? It is an NFT music marketplace that positions itself as an environmentally friendly platform. Serenade does not require the creation of a crypto wallet, debit and credit cards can be used to buy NFTs on the site.
Earlier, Swedish music service Spotify began limited testing of NFTs, with DJ Steve Aoki and indie band The Wombats taking part in it. Tokens are placed on the pages of musicians’ profiles, clicking on the link takes users to the corresponding marketplace for purchase.
