What do the company’s representatives say? Fractal is a marketplace for game studios to host products and exchange NFTs between players. The digital wallet stores non-fungible tokens purchased on the platform. According to the company’s representatives, making it easier to access will increase the popularity of blockchain games. A crypto wallet can be created by logging into the game through one’s Google account. The company’s co-founder Justin Kan added:
“There’s actually not a lot of people who’ve ever touched a blockchain game. There’s around 1,4 million wallets and 3 billion game players out there in the world. In order to get [blockchain games] to be much more mainstream, we are going to have to improve the usability side.”
What is known about Fractal? It is an NFT platform on the Solana blockchain, launched in December 2021 by Twitch co-founder Justin Kan and entrepreneurs Robin Chan, David Wurtz, and Mike Angell.
In April, it became known that Richard Garriot, developer of the popular Ultima game series, was working on creating a new NFT-enabled MMORPG. According to Garriott, players would be able to buy plots of land and erect various buildings on them, from urban infrastructure to dungeons.
NFT game GRIT by developer Gala Games would be available for purchase on the Epic Games Store. The company released 10 000 avatars in the form of non-fungible tokens for users, offering a unique look and various customization elements. The sale of NFTs began on June 6 during the Galaverse event.
