What’s new? The representatives of the NiceHash mining platform posted on Twitter that they managed to fully unlock the limitations of NVIDIA GeForce Lite Hash Rate (LHR) graphics cards. The developers will integrate a limitation circumvention system into their own mining software QuickMiner (Excavator) shortly. NiceHash became the first to manage to unlock the power of LHR graphics cards by 100%.

What happened before? In 2021, NVIDIA released a new line of RTX 3080ti LHR graphics cards with a built-in hashrate limiter for mining Ethereum. This decision was made to reduce miners’ interest in the graphics cards, but this did not stop them from buying them.

In December 2021, the crypto community unlocked an additional 21% of the graphics card’s power due to a BIOS update. Some enthusiasts started mining simultaneously two cryptocurrencies on the same device.

NVIDIA also agreed to pay a $5,5 million fine as part of the settlement of claims by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The regulator stated that the company hid information from investors about the role of mining in its revenue structure for 2018.

What is NiceHash? It is a mining platform established in 2014. The service provides services to buy cryptocurrency mining capacity for BTC. NiceHash has also developed its own mining software QuickMiner (Excavator) with automatic overclocking of equipment and an additional mode for gamers.
