What’s new? On April 1-2, rapper Snoop Dogg held WWE’s 39th Wrestlemania event, where he appeared wearing a Ledger Nano X gold cryptocurrency hardware wallet. The device is custom designed by Eliantte & Co. jewelers and encrusted with precious stones. The body of the wallet is engraved with the name of the Death Row Records label, owned by Snoop Dogg. The hip-hop artist wrote on his Twitter account that security and self-custody are the basis for cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Last August, Truth in Advertising, a non-profit consumer advocacy organization, accused 19 celebrities, including Snoop Dogg, of promoting NFTs without mentioning that it was paid advertising. Letters urging them to disclose financial ties to the projects were also received by rapper Eminem, sports stars Floyd Mayweather and Tom Brady, and actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon.

That same month, Eminem and Snoop Dogg performed the single “From the D 2 The LBC” at the Video Music Awards (VMAs), recorded in collaboration with the Otherside metaverse and the famous NFT collection of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), developed by Yuga Labs. The clip featured characters from the collection.
