What's new? The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has had a press release with details of the launching of the national digital currency. According to the regulator, experts are currently studying various options for the technical realization of the project.
The main characteristics of Hong Kong’s national cryptocurrency will have been presented by the middle of next year. The regulator is known to be able to track users’ transactions in the framework of countering money laundering and terrorist financing.

What do the regulator’s representatives say? Mr Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the HKMA, believes that the publication of the Whitepaper and the research will help explain further consideration and deliberation on the technical project of the e-HKD.
