What’s new? The representatives of Tezos, a decentralized blockchain platform, have published data on its improving network performance. Thus, the capacity of the blockchain has been increased to 1000 transactions per second, resulting in a 5-fold increase in the speed of the network.
What else is known about the upgrade? The innovations will be available in the upcoming release of the network called Octez v13. In addition to increasing the speed of work, the developers have improved the data storage system and reduced the amount of memory required by 80%. According to the Tezos team, this will lead to improved network stability and more predictable rewards for blockchain support from users.
What had happened before? In early April, the developers of the Tezos blockchain activated its ninth protocol upgrade, Ithaca 2. The upgrade will replace the current consensus algorithm, known as Emmy, with Tenderbake. The new consensus algorithm will reduce block finding time, leading to faster transactions.
What is known about Tezos? It is a blockchain platform created to support and run smart contracts. The founders of the project are spouses Arthur and Kathleen Breitman. Tezos has its own XTZ token, whose owners can vote on proposals to upgrade the protocol.
