UAE Ministry of Economy opens its headquarters in the metaverse

What’s new? The Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the creation of its own headquarters in the metaverse. The head of the department, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, said that the virtual building will be a multiple-story building, with each floor dedicated to a different purpose. Visitors to the digital ministry will be able to communicate with a specially appointed assistant, sign documents and perform other operations stipulated in the institution.

More details about the initiative. The headquarters has an auditorium for virtual conferences and other events, as well as separate meeting rooms.

The Ministry’s website already lists a third, digital headquarters address, the other two physical buildings are located in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

In May, Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) also announced the establishment of its headquarters in The Sandbox metaverse. The head of the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), Helal Saeed Almarri, noted that VARA’s presence in the digital world makes the UAE the first jurisdiction to enter the virtual platform.
