Air Europa will launch an Algorand-based collection of NFT tickets

What’s new? Spain’s third-largest airline, Air Europa, has partnered with TravelX, a blockchain company, to launch the world’s first collection of NFT airline tickets (NFTickets) jointly with Algorand. The users who have purchased NFTickets will have access to a special Madrid Miami flight on November 29, 2022. This is reported by Future Travel Experience.

More details about NFTickets. Ten NFTickets will be released every fortnight via the auction platform, TravelX. The tickets will function as traditional non-fungible tokens. When traded, transactions will be recorded on the blockchain. The owners will be able to present the NFT and receive a matching airline ticket.
What is known about Algorand? Algorand is an open-source blockchain platform focused on smart contracts. The blockchain operates on the Pure Proof-of-Stake protocol. The founder of the project is Professor Silvio Micali. Algorand’s first public network was launched on April 16, 2019.
What had happened before? Taylor Travel Management Group, a leading Dutch travel agency specializing in VIP travel, partnered with the BitPay payment system and will start accepting crypto payments.
