What’s new? The CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Adam Aron, has announced that AMC Theatres will be accepting payments in two popular cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, in March. AMC Theatres’ IT department says Bitpay will be launched for AMC online payments by 19 March and for mobile apps by 16 April or a few days earlier.

How did events develop? The CEO promised the crypto community that AMC Theatres will accept DOGE and SHIB payments. He posted a poll on Twitter about Dogecoin in September 2021 and about Shiba Inu in October. Then in November, Aron stated that he had convinced the crypto payment service provider Bitpay to support Shiba Inu.
In 2021, Aron also announced that AMC Theatres had started accepting four cryptocurrencies: BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH. However, customers can only pay with these cryptocurrencies through their Paypal accounts.
