What’s new? On May 1, mining company BIT Mining announced the next generation of theLD4 device for Dogecoin (DOGE) and Litecoin (LTC) mining, developed by subsidiary brand Bee Computing. The LD4 has more power efficiency than the previous LD3 model and features built-in software to combat various vulnerabilities as well as hardware protection. In this, the company has not yet reported on the price and release dates of the new model in production.

BIT Mining is a technology company that specializes in cryptocurrency mining and the production of related equipment. It owns the blockchain browser BTC.com and a comprehensive mining pool that provides mining services for several digital currencies. The company”s shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker BTCM. As of May 2, the value per security is $2,55, down by 6,59% overnight, according to Investing.com.

What is known about the new model? LD4 is the third mining device the company has developed since acquiring hardware maker Bee Computing in 2022. The LD4 has a hashrate of 5000 MH/s and an energy efficiency of 0,71 W/MH. The LD4’s peak performance can reach 5 GH/s.

The device features improved safety and reliability, as well as improved heat dissipation, allowing it to operate at lower temperatures. This is designed to extend the life cycle of the miner.
