​Bitstamp: more than 80% of institutions believe cryptocurrencies will become the main investment vehicle

What’s new? The cryptocurrency industry is trusted by institutional investors, with more than 80% expressing the view that digital assets will become the main investment vehicle within ten years, the Bitstamp crypto exchange reports in a Crypto Pulse report.

What data does the report contain? Bitstamp surveyed the opinions of 5 500 institutional and 23 000 retail investors in 23 countries around the world. According to the exchange, 82,4% of institutional investors believe that cryptocurrencies will be widespread over the next ten years. Meanwhile, 70,4% of institutional investors expressed confidence in the cryptocurrency industry. 54,3% of institutional respondents reported storing more than 30% of their portfolio in cryptocurrencies and 62,8% trade or invest in digital assets at least twice a week.

Among the retail investors surveyed, 75,8% expect widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies within 10 years. 66,9% also expressed confidence in them. 53,8% of respondents would like to use digital assets for online purchases, while 45,4% expect rates to rise over the next five years.

What is known about Bitstamp? It is a cryptocurrency exchange based in Luxembourg. It was founded by Damijan Merlak and Nejc Kodrič in 2011. In April, the Bitstamp exchange began asking its customers for the source of the assets they store on the platform. The new rules have been adopted to comply with the requirements of regulatory authorities.
