What’s new? Yuga Labs, the creator of the popular NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club, has announced on Twitter that it has purchased the rights to two of the most popular collections on the market of non-fungible tokens, CryptoPunks and Meebits. The new owner of the collections has promised to grant “full commercial rights” to the holders of their tokens. Yuga Labs is consulting with a legal team on the matter.

What will happen to the collections purchased? CryptoPunks and Meebits will not necessarily adopt the “club” model that BAYC uses. Yuga Labs has stated that Bored Ape will remain the central project and CryptoPunks will become a “historic” collection.
The former owners of the purchased collections and the Larva Labs founders Matt Hall and John Watkinson will continue to work on the projects.
