El Salvador added 80 bitcoins worth $1,5 million

What’s new? Amid the global downturn in the cryptocurrency market, El Salvador has added 80 BTC at $19 000 for a total of $1,52 million. This was announced by the country’s president Nayib Bukele. He said that bitcoin is the future and thanked “for selling cheap.”

El Salvador’s cryptocurrency situation. In May, Bukele revealed that El Salvador bought 500 bitcoins at $30 744, worth $15,3 million. Including the new assets, the state holds 2381 BTC ($46 million at the rate of July 1, according to Binance).
In June, El Salvador’s president predicted that bitcoin will show an “immensely grow.” Bukele urged investors to remain patient and recommended: “stop looking at the graph and enjoy life.”
In this, El Salvador postponed the issuance of its bitcoin bonds for the second time. According to Finance Minister Alejandro Zelaya, now is not the right time to implement such investment products.
