What’s new? The FTX cryptocurrency exchange has announced the creation of a $1 billion “Future Fund” that will invest in charitable causes. The company is looking for projects that can safely advance AI, minimize the risk of biochemical disaster and end global poverty.
What are the terms? Both non-profit and for-profit projects will be considered, as long as they are in line with FTX’s aims. Those wishing have until March 21 to apply for the first round of funding.
“Tech startups start small and then rapidly scale. We’d like to see that in philanthropy, too,” FTX says.
