What’s new? Deus Finance DAO, a decentralized protocol, was attacked by an unknown hacker. Using the vulnerability discovered, the attacker withdrew about $3 million from the protocol, the specialists on analytics and blockchain security at PeckShield report.
How was the attack carried out? According to PeckShield analysts, the platform’s instant loan service was used during the attack. The hacker managed to manipulate an oracle that determines the price in the USDC/DEI stablecoin pair. The funds obtained by the attacker were transferred to Ethereum and sent to the Tornado Cash mixer.
The protocol’s representatives confirmed this information and assured users that DEUS and DEI contracts were not affected. The developers will provide full information about the incident later.
