What’s new? The Hong Kong Stock Exchange plans to launch a security token trading platform. The service, called Diamond, will appear as early as this year, RTHK reports.
What is known about the new platform? At the first stage, the Diamond users will be able to trade tokenized assets of various companies. Priority will be given to ESG products.
ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) are the principles of the company’s activities aimed at solving environmental protection problems, creating favorable social conditions, and fair relations with employees and customers.
The Diamond platform will work on the basis of blockchain technology using smart contracts. According to the representative of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Xu Yiming, the tokenized asset market represents a promising niche. By 2030, its total volume may reach $60-100 trillion.
