What’s new? Infrastructure blockchain company Alchemy has launched a tool called Alchemy Rollups, allowing third-party developers to launch and scale their own blockchains. “Our mission is to bring access to web3 to billions of users, and enabling developers to run their own chains is a critical step towards that goal,” said Alchemy Product Lead Monica Garde.
What else is known? Alchemy Rollups will offer a comprehensive toolkit for designing, running, and optimizing Layer 2 (L2) networks with a focus on scale, speed, and cost efficiency. The tool utilizes rollup technology, which combines multiple transactions into a single packet and transmits it to the mainnet for validation.
Rollups act as networks on top of the underlying blockchain, allowing for cheaper and more private transactions. The group of such networks that already exist include zkSync, StarkNet, and Loopring.
With the new tool, developers will be able to create both optimistic rollups and zero-knowledge (ZK) rollups, which differ in their approach to transaction processing. Initially, Alchemy Rollups will be integrated with Arbitrum’s Orbit and Optimism Stack development platforms.
Garde noted that with the help of the new tool, developers will be able to customize decentralized solutions according to market requirements and generate revenue for further development of projects.
