What’s new? On March 27, the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN) reported that Justin Sun, CEO of the TRON blockchain and Huobi crypto exchange, is no longer Grenada’s ambassadorto the World Trade Organization (WTO). The entrepreneur was reportedly deprived of his ambassadorial status after the elections held in June 2022. At that time, the New National Party, which had given Sun the position, was ousted by the National Democratic Congress. On March 31, analyst Colin Wu reported that SUn denied this information, saying he was still Grenada’s permanent representative to the WTO, and provided a screenshot of the organization’s official website.

What else did GBN report? Sun was appointed a WTO representative by the Government of Grenada in 2021. All ambassadors, however, were recalled during the first months of the National Democratic Congress.
Information about Sun’s revocation of his Grenadian diplomat status came soon after the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against the entrepreneur. The regulator accused him of manipulating the market and illegally selling securities. Sun later said the lawsuit had little impact on his projects.
